Biography

Mike O’Connor is a junior at Penfield High School and has been playing violin for ten years. He started studying the violin at the age of seven and has enjoyed it ever since. His present teacher is Fran Morgante.

Mike is currently in the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra and Virtuosi Scholarship Chamber Orchestra. He is looking forward to traveling with the orchestra to Italy and Switzerland next year. Mike has also participated in many All County and Area All State Orchestras.
Recently Mike began participating in the Fortissimo String Chamber Music Camp at Nazareth College under the supervision of Liana Koteva and Ingrid Bock.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys baseball, basketball, golf and running track and cross country for Penfield.

Next year, Mike will be considering various colleges for a degree in Music Education.
