Biography
Cellist Ingrid Bock enjoys a wide variety of musical activities in Rochester, as performer, teacher, and concert presenter. She is a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the principal cellist of the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, and the founder and director of Fortissimo!, Inc. She is a founding member of the Cello Divas, an ensemble performing throughout New York State and dedicated to commissioning new works and arrangements for cello quartet (www.cellodivas.com). Ingrid greatly enjoys teaching, and maintains a class of inspired, and inspiring, private cello students. In addition she teachers cello and chamber music through the Community Music Program at Nazareth College. Ingrid received the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and the Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Paul Katz and Steven Doane. Apart from her musical activities, she loves reading, Scrabble, tap dancing, antiquing, gardening, baking, and crafts, but number one on her list of favorite activities is taking care of her five dogs and three cats.
