Biography

Andrew Jones is a senior at Webster Schroeder High School. He started playing cello at the age of eight. As well as being a member of Amanticello, Andrew is principal cellist in his high school orchestra, a member of the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra with whom he performed in Germany and the Czech Republic. He is also a member of the Virtuosi Scholarship Chamber Orchestra at Hochstein, where he studies conducting as well as playing cello.  Andrew has played cello in two High School Area All-State Orchestras and the Nazareth College Community Orchestra. In addition to playing cello, he plays first trumpet in his high school concert band and first trumpet in the “Blue Notes” select jazz ensemble.  Next year, Andrew plans to major in music with a possible minor in history or humanities.
