"The Great Fortissimo 4 x 4 Event"

Get ready for a thrilling ride on the Fortissimo 4 x 4:
this is one you won't want to dodge!

At 8:00 PM on Friday, May 23rd, in Wilmot Recital Hall at Nazareth College, 4245 East Avenue, you'll have the opportunity to hear a rare gem of the chamber music literature. Four string quartets, sixteen of Rochester's finest professional musicians and their students, will perform Johannes Van Bree's unique, "Allegro for Four String Quartets", an intricate and beautifully crafted piece of chamber music art. Also on the program are movements from some of the world's best loved string quartets--Dvŏŕak's "American", Schubert's "Death and the Maiden", and works by Borodin, Pleyel, and Mendelssohn.
In addition, the evening will mark the first public appearance of the winners of the 2008 Fortissimo! Inc. Chamber Music Competition, who will be chosen on by audition on May 17th. Come and see what surprises Rochester's best chamber music students have in store for us.
Fortissimo! Inc. is pleased to donate fifty percent of the proceeds from this unique event to Meals on Wheels, "Serving Meals One Smile At A Time". Come and take a ride on the 4 by 4, and help us deliver nourishment for bodies and souls!
